Students at Lotus Academy reach the pinnacle of their educational journey in the University Preparation Program for Grades 11 and 12. Here, the focus is on preparing for higher education, with an emphasis on developing perspectives, interpreting information, independent learning, and active participation in our small group settings.
About the Program
Each week, our seasoned guidance counselors work closely with each student to prepare them for their first year of university and beyond, providing advice and counseling during the application and scholarship selection process. Academic, personal, and career goals are the focal points, as counselors help students refine their skills and abilities for post-secondary options.
The four-term, two-course structure in Grades 11 and 12 mirrors the academic semester system of higher education, training students to manage their schedules, utilize self-directed study skills, and benefit from the familiar "round-table" tutorial system. At Lotus Academy, students learn to advocate for themselves, foster strong relationships with instructors, and actively engage in their school community.
University Preparation Program
Grades 11 & 12
A student’s journey with Blyth Academy culminates in the University Preparation Program for Grades 11 & 12. Here, preparing for post-secondary education is the primary focus, with increased focus on developing opinions, interpreting information, independent learning, and active participation in our small-group setting.

The LaunchPad Program has been designed and implemented to set Blyth Academy students apart and propel them into the future with skills and knowledge to gain success.

Pre-Launch for Grades 7 & 8 offers middle schoolers the opportunity to experience high school-level courses before entering high school, giving your teenager a competitive edge and easing the transition to Grade 9.

In partnership with Spectrum Airways, Blyth Academy Burlington offers our students the unique opportunity to combine top-tier private education with the ability to earn a pilot’s licence and even become an instructor themselves – all before entering university!
Term by Term Options
At Blyth Academy we have four intake periods during our school year to make starting at Blyth as flexible as possible.
- Term One (September)
- Term Two (November)
- Term Three (February)
- Term Four (April)
This is possible due to our unique quadmester structure (four terms) which allows for flexibility for students who want to try us out or who are looking for extra credits in a gap year.
High school students can join us at any of our four entry points throughout the academic year, and elementary students can join at any time during the school year. (Space Permitting)
